Crude oil gained after a report indicated a deeper OPEC production cuts.

Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil and gasoline inventories are expected to have fallen last week, while distillate stockpiles were seen higher.

China's crude oil imports from Malaysia stood near record levels in July, customs data showed.

Money managers raised their net long U.S. crude futures and options positions in the week to August 20, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) said.
